There is big discussion going on on whether Facebook marketing is still something businesses should engage with. With the desire to create more revenue, the company changed its algorithms and it now became very difficult to make posts visible to fans. While some experts claim they found ways to get around Facebook’s restrictions, it remains questionable if the site can deliver value for smaller businesses or individuals.
For those that love Facebook and would stay loyal, here is an infographic that shows a few things to consider when doing Facebook marketing. Have a look!

Well, the measuring and optimizing is done quickly in this case: If I want to reach 10,000 people with my post and I can’t or don’t want to pay Facebook for it, I will have to go somewhere else.
For small and medium businesses with a tight budget, Facebook has become a platform that can only run on the side in order to catch “strugglers”. Social media marketing is done better elsewhere.

Social Media is not only a preferred tool for B2C marketers, but over the past two years also became a major tool for B2B marketers. The reasons are clear, brand awareness and revenue generation are important to every business, not matter to whom you are selling. Both, and a few other goals, can be accomplished with a good thought trough social media presence and campaign.
Based on facts and numbers of 2013, the infographic below shows how B2B might operate in 2014. Have a look and see if your strategy is in line. However, and this is very important for your B2B social media marketing efforts, don’t neglect two major content and social platforms as the creator of this infographic did: You Tube and WordPress! This is important just for the fact that the use of these two platforms can and will make up and succeed your results coming from Facebook, if you put some effort into it. While Facebook seems to be everyone’s “baby”, in my opinion and experience, it can be neglected. I do so for the simple reason that success on Facebook has to be bought. With the same effort, and for free, YouTube and WordPress will take you much further, especially in B2B social media marketing.

Over the past years I have always claimed that social media should be a sales driver. When I started doing so, I received a lot of heat from the “experts”. Then, the common opinion was, social media is good for brand awareness and other more or less unmeasurable marketing activities. Especially big brands had, and still have, major problems to determine ROI’s in their activity on social. There is no doubt that social media is good for brand awareness and even for the activities that are “unmeasurable”, however, lots of marketing dollars have been spent, and still are, for a lot of hot air.
Now, more and more, social media is turning into a sales driver. However, many business owners still have many questions on how to increase sales on social media. Which platform is best? How to approach it and a few others are on the plate every day.
Shopify has created this infographic to show which social platforms are driving the most sales. Have a look and find out which platform might work for you.

The infographic below shows how corporate is trying to organize and improve sales through social media marketing and how marketing is trying to get the sales department on board. Unfortunately, this is the way how things work in the corporate world. In this social media marketing case, and in many other marketing cases, it should actually be the other way around.
Social media marketing should be managed by sales people and marketing departments should be working for the sales guys, as they demand it. Social media marketing, like no other marketing strategy, comes with the opportunity to change and adjust on the spot. However, this opportunity can only be managed by sales people. They talk to the potential clients and customers and learn of potential shortfalls of the marketing material or content used.
Social media marketing is successful if you hit the potential client’s demand “right now” and not later.
